Suzi was born in Tasmania – a descendant of Mannalargeenna, the chief of the Ben Lomond tribe of Tasmania. With both her parents also part of that community, Suzi was raised under her Aboriginal name Koruna (meaning white eagle).

In creating these designs Suzi has used the colours of the Gold Coast sunrise which she views from her home at Coolangatta.
